New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole has won three games in a row since the opening. 

Cole took the mound as a starting pitcher in an away game against the Cleveland Indians held at Cleveland Progressive Field on the 12th (Korean time). 

He threw a fastball with a maximum speed of 98.9 miles (159.2 km) and became the winning pitcher with 5 hits, 2 walks, 3 strikeouts and 2 runs in 7 innings. The Yankees came from behind to win 11-2. 

Cole had only 3 strikeouts, which was his long-term goal, 토토사이트but he overcame the early crisis well and showed quality start plus pitching. The season starts well with 3 wins and an undefeated ERA of 1.40 in 3 games. The three wins tied for the most wins in the major leagues. 

The first start was not good. Top hitter Steve Kwan got a heavy hit, and Andres Jimenez allowed an infield hit to second base, leading to a crisis with no 1st and 3rd base.

He handed the key to right field to Jose Ramirez and hit a double that came out of the fence, allowed the first run and became the 2nd and 3rd base safely. He allowed two runs on a sacrifice fly to right field to Josh Naylor. He ended a difficult first inning by striking out Josh Bell on a swing and hitting Will Brennan with a ground ball to second baseman with 1 out and 3 base.

In the second inning, he caught Oscar Gonzalez with a fly ball in right field and sent Mike Zunino on a walk. He struck out Gabriel Arias and grounded Kwan to first base to end the inning. Episode 3 is a clean tripartite crime. He handled a grounder at first base, a grounder at third base, and a grounder at second base with seven balls. 

He got hit with a double in the 4th inning, but no runs were allowed. After one out, Brennan hit a double on the right, but Gonzalez was grounded out by shortstop and Zunino struck out on a swing. In the 5th inning, it ended with a triple strike. Center fielder Judge caught all three outfield floating balls.

Cole got a heavy hit from leadoff batter Ramirez in the 6th inning, but Naylor eliminated the runner with a shortstop grounder double play. Bell was out on a fly ball to center field. In the 7th inning, he gave up a walk after one out, but ended the inning with a double hit by the third baseman. 

After the 2019 season, Cole obtained free agent status and signed a 9-year, $324 million (approximately 428.3 billion won) contract with the Yankees. 

The Yankees got a chance to load bases in the 3rd inning with DJ LeMayhew’s double from the left, Anthony Rizzo’s sand ball after a run, and Glaber Torres’ walk. Willie Calhoun’s timely hit tied the score at 2-2. Then, Oswaldo Cabrera’s center fielder sacrifice fly from 1st out, 2nd and 3rd base turned the score around 3-2. Francie Cordero hit a three-run homer that went over the right wall and ran away, 6-2. 

The Yankees created a chance to safely load the bases with three consecutive hits by Aaron Hicks, LeMayhew, and Aaron Judge in the fourth inning. Rizzo hit a timely hit with 1 RBI, 7-2. He added one more point when Torres hit a shortstop grounder.  

In the 7th inning, the Yankees had a chance to run 1st and 2nd base with hits by Hicks and Judge, and made it 9-2 with Rizzo’s right-handed hit. Afterwards, Judge scored with a wild throw from 2nd, 1st and 3rd base, making it 10-2. The Yankees added one run in the ninth.
