Alec Manoa (Toronto Blue Jays), who was demoted to the minor leagues due to poor performance at the end, starts playing a simulation game.

Canadian sports media ‘TSN’ said on the 16th (hereinafter Korean time), “Manoa is scheduled to appear in a simulation game held in Dunedin, Florida, USA on Thursday.” “Manoa targets five innings and faces Toronto hitters,” he added. 메이저놀이터

Manoa, who is well known to domestic fans as “Hyunjin Ryu”, played 20 games in 2021, the first year of his big league debut, and was recognized for his potential with 9 wins and 2 losses (average ERA of 3.22).

He climbed the mound 31 times last year and completed a career high season with a 16-7 record (2.24 earned run average). He stood tall as Toronto’s ace, including finishing third in the American League Cy Young Award voting.

However, he became a troublemaker with pitching below expectations this season. He has 1 win and 7 losses in 13 appearances. His earned run average is 6.36.

On April 6, his second appearance of the season, against the Kansas City Royals, he showed off his 7 scoreless innings and won the match. Since May, he has played 7 games and suffered 6 losses. His earned run average is a whopping 8.10.

He collapsed with 6 runs in ⅓ innings against the Houston Astros on the 6th, which was his last appearance.

Manager John Schneider said, “When Manoa is ready, he intends to call up to the major leagues. I want him to focus on getting his form back.”
