Outfielder Cary Lee (25), who is under investigation by the Major League Secretariat for assaulting his girlfriend, was demoted to the minor leagues after waiting for release.

The Mets transferred Lee to Triple-A Syracuse on the 11th (hereafter Korean time). Previously, on the 7th, pitcher Sam Kunrod, who was brought from the Philadelphia Phillies on a waiver claim, was put on the 40-man roster, and Lee was designated for transfer (DFA), but there was no team he wanted during the waiver period. Eventually, he changed his status to a minor leaguer.

It was a foreseen action. It was revealed earlier this month that Lee was charged with assaulting her ex-girlfriend. In a statement, the Mets said, “We immediately reported to the secretariat after becoming aware of Lee’s allegations. “She will follow major league policy and cannot comment until the Secretariat investigation process is complete.”

Lee is accused of assaulting her ex-girlfriend Kerry Winhill on May 8 last year during a verbal altercation. He pulled her hair and choked her, leaving several bruises on her body. Lee, who went to Syracuse police the next day and admitted to her assault, was charged with a misdemeanor on August 11.  메이저사이트

This fact was revealed belatedly, and the secretariat entered into an investigation, and disciplinary actions will be taken as soon as the results come out. In August 2015, major league labor and management consulted on the Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence, and Child Abuse Prevention Treaty, and intensive disciplinary action is being imposed whenever related incidents arise.

Left-handed outfielder Lee was named to the Kansas City Royals with the 103rd overall pick in the first round in the 2016 draft, and in February 2021, he wore a Mets uniform in a triangular trade that included the Boston Red Sox. After his major league debut in 2021, he struggled with a batting average of 5.6 in 11 games.

He played steadily in the minor leagues, but last year, he had a batting average of .201, 75 hits, 10 home runs, and 37 RBIs in 100 Triple-A games. In June, he briefly came to the big leagues and recorded 2 games, 1 hit (home run) and 3 RBIs, but went down to the minors again.

No team was found during the waiver period for Lee, who was subject to travel disciplinary action. As expected, his status was demoted to a minor leaguer as his affiliation was transferred to Triple-A. The assault is ruining his career.
