Shintaro Fujinami, 29, who has been rebounding from a major slump, has been traded to a team that could make the postseason.

The Oakland Athletics are sending Fujinami to the Baltimore Orioles, Fox Sports in the United States reported on Tuesday.

In exchange for Fujinami is left-hander Easton Lucas, 27, who has a 4.26 ERA in nine games at Triple-A this season.

Fujinami, who was rumoured to be on his way out as recently as May, comes to the postseason-bound Orioles, who moved into first place in the AL East on Tuesday.스포츠토토

Through 19 games, Fujinami has pitched 49 1/3 innings in 34 starts this season, going 5-8 with a 3.57 ERA. He has 51 strikeouts.

A very poor ERA. However, Fujinami has stabilised this month with a 2.25 ERA after a 3.97 ERA last month.

Fujinami has been credited with adjusting to major league ball since May. Fujinami has significantly increased his fastball velocity, which was one of the lowest in the majors.

His four-seam fastball, which tops out at over 100 mph, is working at full strength. If Fujinami can keep up his performance this month, it will be a huge boost for the Baltimore bullpen.
