Tribuna, a specialized soccer media outlet, released its best 11 of the Saudi Arabian league on Feb. 2 (ET). “The Saudi Professional League made waves in the soccer world in 2023, with many high-profile soccer players joining clubs in the league. Saudi Pro League clubs actually spent more money than La Liga teams in the summer of 2023, and continue to pay big bucks to attract top-level talent.”

Tribuna’s top 11 is filled with players who have played for big clubs in the immediately preceding season. Here are their top 11

4-2-3-1 formation. Alex Telles, Kalidou Koulibaly, Jordan Henderson, and Khalid Alganam in the back four, with Edouard Mendy in goal.

The midfield is anchored by N’Golo Kante and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, with Roberto Firmino playing as a second top or attacking midfielder.

The left and right flanks are flanked by Alain Saint-Maximin and Riyad Mahrez, while Karim Benzema anchors the front line.

With the exception of Khalid Alganam, all of these players were acquired in the summer transfer window, with Alganam being the only homegrown player.

Most notable is the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, who was the catalyst for Saudi Arabia’s breakout season.
