Women’s professional volleyball GS Caltex fell into a fatal 3-game losing streak, casting a dark cloud over their hopes of advancing into spring volleyball.
GS Caltex lost with a set score of 1-3 (25-22 18-25 17-25 23-25) in the home game against Heungkuk Life Insurance in the 5th round of the Dodram 2022-2023 V-League Women’s Division held at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul on the 19th.
The start wasn’t bad. The main gun Moma took the center of the attack, and Kang So-hui and Han Su-ji worked hard to win the first set. It seemed that he had prepared a stepping stone to decorate the final match of the 5th round with victory in the home room. 메이저놀이터
However, from the second set, Heungkuk Life’s Kim Yeon-kyung, Yelena Ssangpo, and rookie Kim Da-eun exploded, and the flow of the game rapidly shifted toward Heungkuk Life. GS Caltex repeated the vicious cycle of collapsing due to frequent mistakes at each match, and eventually gave the 2nd and 3rd sets to Heungkuk Life Insurance.
In the 4th set, mistakes also caught GS Caltex’s ankles. In 21-22, Moma’s serve was a critical blow, and he eventually bowed his head in a painful come-from-behind defeat.
GS Caltex remained in 5th place with 13 wins and 17 losses and 39 points for the season. A red light was turned on in the competition to advance to the postseason as they failed to close the gap with Korea Expressway Corporation (3rd place, 48 points) and 4th place, KGC Ginseng Corporation (43 points), which played one less game.
After the match, GS Caltex coach Sang-Hyun Cha said, “The players said they were using their own strength, but there were many mistakes that were not seen after 20 points.”
First of all, coach Cha explained, “The players are very tired. I’m going to give them a break for about two days. I think it’s my role to prepare well for the last 6 rounds so that we can show off our strength.”
He also added, “In the 6th round match against Heungkuk Life Insurance, it is difficult to suddenly change teams.
