카지노Doosan Bears foreign pitcher Brandon Waddell (29) and SSG Landers ace Kim Kwang-hyun (35) will meet for the third time in their careers.
Brandon and Kwang-hyun Kim will start the Doosan-SSG game of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League on 12 December at SSG Landers Field in Incheon.
It will be the third time the two have faced each other as starters. Brandon, who experienced the KBO late last year as a replacement for Ariel Miranda, has made two starts against SSG, both against Kim Kwang-hyun.
In the Doosan-SSG game on 17 September last year, Brandon pitched 7⅔ innings with five hits and one run to earn the win. At the time, Kim Kwang-hyun pitched seven innings of five-hit ball to earn the win, but the bullpen (Noh Kyung-eun gave up three runs in the first inning and Lee Tae-yang gave up one run in the first inning) allowed the game to fall to 1-4.
About three weeks later, on 5 October, Brandon had the last laugh as Doosan won 5-2. Brandon’s seven innings of three-hit ball earned him his second win against SSG, while Kim Kwang-hyun, who gave up four runs on six hits in six innings, took the loss.
This will be Brandon’s third time facing Kwang-hyun as he returns to the KBO this season as a replacement for Dylan Pyle. The mood has been favourable for Brandon of late. With Doosan riding an eight-game winning streak, Brandon is 1-1 with a 0.90 ERA in three starts since returning to the KBO. In his most recent outing, against the Samsung Lions on the 6th, he pitched seven innings of four-hit ball with 11 strikeouts and one earned run to earn his first win of the season.
Kim Kwang-hyun, on the other hand, is not in a good place. In his most recent start against the KIA Tigers on the 6th, Kim struggled mightily, giving up seven runs on eight hits, two walks, one home run, and one strikeout in 4⅓ innings. The poor performance pushed his season ERA from 3.31 to 4.00.
Sitting 2.5 games behind the first-place LG Twins, SSG is in desperate need of a strong outing from Kim Kwang-hyun as they need to close the gap before the end of the first half. Doosan needs a win to continue its winning streak, widen the gap between itself and the mid-table and jump into the race for the top spot.
Doosan lined up with Jung Soo-bin (centre fielder), Kim Jae-ho (shortstop), Rojas (right fielder), Yang Ji (designated hitter), Yang Seok-hwan (first baseman), Kim Jae-hwan (left fielder), Kang Seung-ho (second baseman), Jang Seung-hyun (catcher) and Park Jun-young (third baseman). SSG countered with a line-up of Choo Shin-soo (right fielder), Choi Ji-hoon (centre fielder), Kang Jin-sung (first baseman), Choi Ju-hwan (second baseman), Park Sung-sung (shortstop), Kim Kang-min (designated hitter), Kim Sung-hyun (third baseman), Kim Min-sik (catcher) and Oh Tae-gon (left fielder).
